4 Days + 3 Nights

April 20-23, 2023

St. George, Utah

The crag + our crash pad

Our 4 day intensive retreat will take place just outside St. George in the Utah desert. Nestled along with northern reaches of the Santa Clara river, Crawdad Canyon / Veyo is a truly special rock climbing destination.  Established in the 1920’s, it is a local gem with over 500 routes and a 100% warm spring-fed pool for relaxation and recovery. It offers a change of pace from the typically crowded, better known climbing areas of southern Utah.  We have access to Veyo’s private canyon for the ClimbWell community, offering a unique opportunity to explore this special place.  See more HERE.

Camping, climbing, and connecting are within easy and appropriate distance from one another on this shady, quiet property. With a pickleball, volleyball, and basketball court, a river full of crawdads, swimming, climbing, or lounging, there is opportunity to play or rest in all the ways. Showers, ample bathrooms, and picnic tables make needs convenient and comfortable for the long weekend.

Accommodation: Your ticket includes a campsite and access to showers, bathrooms, and all public gathering spaces. Bring your own gear (i.e., sleeping bag, tent, pillow, etc). If you need gear, just let us know, and we’ll help source items. If you’re planning to car camp or stay in your van, there is a designated area to circle the wagons!

Climbing

The rock climbing here is bullet-hard basalt, ranging from 5-fun to 5.13.  Established primarily by local hard-man, Todd Goss, these 500 routes are a special variety of techy, powerful, cryptic, and cruise-able.  As tall as 85’, sport climbs at Crawdad Canyon are long enough for us to get off the ground, but short enough that we can tick multiple great pitches in a workshop afternoon.  With several walls stacked with 5.11-5.13+, we found a place where the ClimbWell community can gather and climb, each navigating their own challenge zone alongside one another.

Workshops & Clinics

Workshops are the core of your ClimbWell experience. Each day we’ll do deep-dives on key topics that help you improve your mental game, develop technical and tactical skills, and show up more confidently on the rock and in life. Your workshop leaders are world-class climbers, coaches and facilitators who draw from a unique combination of experiences at the intersection of climbing, personal development, and wellness. Plan to gain new insights about yourself and your sport, improve your mental and technical skills, and step outside your comfort zone - all with hands-on coaching and real-time practice within a supportive group.

Yoga for Climbers

Enjoy daily yoga practice intentionally designed to enhance climber performance in mind and body. Classes are alignment-based vinyasa and incorporate breath, visualization, and somatic exercises that encourage depth of understanding and self-awareness.

On the physical level, we’ll explore the dynamic conversation between strength and flexibility in the body by targeting key muscle groups that support climbing. We’ll also dive into recovery and rest practice. For the mental game, expect mindfulness and breathwork tools to collaborate with the nervous system and build emotional resilience when we meet our edge.

Food: Plant-based nutrition

You are going to LOVE the fully catered vegetarian meals (and the planet will love you for feasting on plants!). There will be fresh food made with love, using eco-friendly and earth conscious resources. The meals are nutritionally balanced, delicious, and seasonal yet energizing to optimize your mind and body so you can get the most out of the long weekend.

For our full days together, you can expect 3 meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner with snacks to sustain you! Get to know each other over dinner Thursday night and savor our last hang session with Sunday brunch.

  • If you're ready to get out of reactive patterns and take full ownership of your mind/inner dialogue while climbing, ClimbWell is the retreat for you my friend.

Patricio Robles - Veyo, UT 2021

  • ClimbWell gave me something I didn't know I was looking for. It sparked my fire and curiosity to find out what my potential is and where that potential can bring me not only in climbing but in life. The coaches - Remy, Blake, and Gaby - were all approachable, down to earth, and so passionate about the mission that they created together. They, along with every human that showed up, created this beautiful community of support and openness from day one. If there was a "perfect" environment to encourage self-development and intrapersonal growth through the medium of climbing, this has to be it. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to experience this weekend and all ClimbWell has to offer. If you're thinking about signing up or hesitant about if it's right for you - DO IT - you won't regret it!

Nicole Frati - Veyo, UT 2022

  • I did it. It was awesome. I almost didn't go but Im glad i did! I feel a stronger identity and happiness and perspective as a climber. Literally every person there was inspiring and great and relatable. Also Yoga. Its a big deal. You will wake up with Yoga each day. Its good for you. Do it! ♡

Retreat Participant - Veyo, UT 2021

  • This has been one of the most transformational experiences of my life, as a climber and as a participant of the human experience. I met amazing people that I’ll keep dear to my heart, and practical takeaways that will follow me with every climb I do, and every challenge I face in life. Thank you Remy, Blake, and Gaby!

    Melissa - Rifle, CO 2022

  • I couldn’t have anticipated a more delightful collection of people – the ClimbWell team as well as all the other participants. A beautifully grounding while expansive experience. Grateful.

    Natalie - Rifle, CO 2022

  • It was precious to gather with other folks who climb for the same reason I do: because it is a gateway to presence and to a connection with myself.

Jeremy Blanchard, Leadership Coach - Rifle, CO 2022

  • The ClimbWell approach of encouraging you to bring lessons from your love of an experience with climbing into your everyday life is invaluable.

Dr. Chelsea McGivney - Rifle, CO 2022

  • Anyone who considers Climbing to be a part of their life should do this! I learned tons, felt so much support, and came away inspired. I also tried the hardest route I’ve ever tried.

    Andrew - Rifle, CO 2022

  • Great place to learn, find your growth edge, and meet lifelong friends :-)
